Art. 29 of the Convention for the Protection of World Heritage

Periodic Report

On the website of the World Heritage Centre the first Periodic Report on the status of conservation is available, provided by Art. 29 of the Convention on the Preservation of World Heritage.

The Report was completed by the Historic Centre Bureau - UNESCO World Heritage in October 2005 and contains information on the inscription of Florence on the World Heritage List, the status of conservation of the Historic Centre, the instruments of protection and preservation used, the financial and human resources, as well as analzses of the site's strengths and weaknesses.

After the compilation of the Periodic Report the following novelties have to be reported:
-     Formulation and adoption of a Management Plan for the Historic Centre of Florence (March 2006)
-      Installation, along the boundary line, of street signs indicating the inscription of the Historic Centre of Florence on the World Heritage List
-      Elaboration of a logo for the Historic Centre Bureau - UNESCO World Heritage that unites the traditional symbol of the city, the Lily, with the logo of World Heritage
