PROJECTS

For the formulation of the Management Plan of the Historic Centre of Florence the primary projects have been determined, some of them being in the phase of study and analysis, others already in realization, targeted at the development and conservation of the UNESCO site.
The projects inherent in the Plan were selected on the basis of their effectiveness within the area and in particular for their actual practicality as well as feasability. As can be seen from the table, the projects are subdidvided into four Action Plans: Action Plan for protecting, preserving, and enhancing the Historic Centre (refurbishment of Piazza S. Maria Novella, "The greater Boboli" itinerary: Greenway in Oltrarno, "Prince's Walk", regulations on the historical and art heritage of the Municipality of Florence), Action Plan for research and knowledge (City of Restoration, History of Florence Portal, Archeological GIS, DAVID Project, Historic Centre Portal - UNESCO World Heritage, Fiorenza Project), Action Plan for the mobility and environment (Transit Point, Tramway, bibycle paths, Agenda 21 Process) and finally the Action Plan for tourism (Historical shops within historic-artistic itineraries, Art itineraries in Florence, Museum Card).
