
5th National Conference of the Italian Member Sites of the World Heritage List

On the 15th and 16th of December 2007, the 5th edition of the National Conference of Italian Sites UNESCO will happen in Florence with the aid of the Ministry for Cultural Goods and Activities. The Minister for the Cultural Goods and Activities, Francesco Rutelli, approving the proposal of the Council Administration of Florence, has scheduled events in concomitance with the celebrations for the 25th anniversary of the inscription of the city of Florence in the List of UNESCO. At the conclusion of the conference, the 17th of December, a solemn ceremony, promoted by the local authorities, will occur.
The objective of the National Conference is to develop the relative topics of protection, conservation, valuation, and management of the Italian Sites inscribed in the List of UNESCO, with the contribution of the experts and representatives of competent institutions. In the field, particular attention will be dedicated to make evident and clear the principals and the tendencies of the Convention, the procedures and the guided courses, the strategies of re-balancing the List UNESCO, and the scenarios and prospectives for future inscriptions. Another subject of particular actuality is that of cultural background, that will be confronted with the experiences of some of the European countries.
