Il restauro della serra e del giardino saranno effettuate secondo la Carta di Venezia e la Carta di Firenze scritte, avendo con l’obiettivo della conservazione dei giardini pubblici, dalla International Committee for the Historical Gardens) (ICOMOS-IFLA) la quale possiede un progetto di Architettura di interesse storico e artistico.

1) Il Giardino:

La riabilitazione riguarda esclusivamente il giardino e includerà:

• La riabilitazione ed il riallineamento dei giardinetti manterranno la stessa somiglianza geometrica relativa al periodo storico di quando sono stati creati.
• Nuove piantagioni verranno inserite secondo un piano specifico riguardo la specie della pianta, le stagioni e la fioritura. Nuove specie verranno piantate con delle caratteristiche speciali le quali daranno un nuovo aspetto al giardino, mantenendo sempre lo spirito iniziale.
• L’irrigatore sarà restaurato,i bordi ed i limiti saranno anch’essi restaurati, inserendo nuovi piantagioni.
• La siepe attuale sarà anch’essa restaurata
• -Nuove siepi saranno installate ed altre restaurate conservando lo stile iniziale.
• Anche la pavimentazione sarà restaurata e la Rosebush Promenade verrà modificata.
• La fontana principale verrà restaurata e verranno inserite delle piante acquatiche.Le piccole fontane verranno anch’esse rinnovate.
• Anche l’illuminazione sarà modificata mantenendo lo stile del giardino.
• Le sculture esistenti verranno ricollocate ed altre verranno inserite.

2) La Serra:

Tenendo in considerazione il deterioramento dell’attuale serra e i suoi documenti del giardino nell’insieme, la proposta consiste nella totale restaurazione del palazzo e nella sua espansione con nuovi metodi. Gli obiettivi sono: dare una nuova vita al giardino; dare un nuovo servizio pubblico; essere un nuovo simbolo per l’area e per l’intera città. La proposta include:

• Il rinnovo della serra dedicata "alle Antiche, Vecchie specie di Rosebush".Ciò si collega al tema del Central Rosebush Promenade, ed inoltre alla memoria della prima "Flower Exhibitions" in Girona, queste furono Competizioni fra i cittadini.
• Il quartiere generale della "Flower Exhibition" occuperà parte del palazzo e una parte di essa sarà in esposizione tutto l’anno. Ciò servirà a far sì che i visitatori possono anche parteciparvi in altri periodi dell’anno.

Nello stesso palazzo ci sarà una hall dedicata all’esibizione del panorama ed al giardino. Tutto ciò sarà una novità per la città e probabilmente sarà una nuova attrazione per tutti i cittadini della Catalogna.

3) Devesa:

Con la partecipazione della riabilitazione del giardino seguiranno alcuni lavori di miglioramento progettati dal Management Plan per Devesa. Per dare una nuova dimensione a questa foresta di alberi, la città dovrà trasformare essa in un Sculpture Park.

The greenhouse and garden restoration would be done according to the Venice Charter and the Charter of Florence written by the International Committee for the Historical Gardens ICOMOS-IFLA, having as objective the preservation of public gardens that possess an Architecture and Planting composition of artistic and historic interest.

1. The Garden

The rehabilitation regarding exclusively the garden will include:

• Rehabilitation and realignment of the parterres with the recovering of the order and geometry with resemblance to the historic period when they were built.
• New plantings will be done according to an specific plan regarding species, seasons and their blooming. New species will be planted with special characteristics that will give a new character to the garden, according to the initial design spirit.
• The water channel will be restored, the limits and borders will be redefined and repaired and new plantings will take place.
• The hedge, which is actually the fence of the garden, will be restored.
• New benches will be installed and some will be restored all according to the style of the initial design.
• Together with the geometric restitution of the parterres, the garden pavements will be restored, and the central "Rosebush Promenade" will be specially treated.
• The main fountain will be restored and aquatic plants incorporated to it. The rest of the small fountains will be renewed.
• New lights will be installed according to the style of the garden.
• The existing sculptures will be relocated and new ones will be incorporated.

Taking in account the degradation of the actual greenhouse and its marginal paper regarding the garden as a whole, the proposal consists of the total rehabilitation of the building and its expansion with new uses. The objectives are: to revitalise the garden; to provide a new link to the city and facilitate the access to the garden; to give a new public service; to be a new symbol for the area and the entire city. The proposal includes:

• The renewal of the greenhouse dedicated to "Antique, Old and special Rosebush species". This relates to the theme of the Central Rosebush Promenade, and also to the memory of the first "Flower Exhibitions" in Girona, those were Rose Competitions between the citizens.
• The headquarters of the "Flower Exhibition" would occupy the expansion of the building and a permanent exhibition of it would be always shown. This would be for all those who visit the city in other times of the year to participate on it too. At the same building there would be an exhibition hall dedicated to landscape and garden related exhibitions. This would be a novelty for the city and probably would attract people from all Catalunya.

Together with the rehabilitation of the garden will follow the different improvement works provided by the Management Plan for the Devesa. To give this forest of trees a new international dimension, the city would transform it into an Sculpture Park acquiring pieces of renewed value.
