However, in order to do a more specific study, the maximum and mean levels of luminance (lux - lumens per square metre) were calculated for various points and locations in the rooms, halls and landings that form part of our exhibition areas.
The results of those calculations are given below. One table was produced in July 1995 before making changes to the rooms and the other was produced in January 2000.
